Open Call: Curatorial Residency in Berlin

Nestled in the heart of Berlin, a city renowned for its artistic and cultural dynamism, this residency provides an unparalleled platform for curatorial exploration and development. Working alongside Karne Kunst, a leader in feminist art, and showcasing at Bardo Projektraum, participants will immerse themselves in an inspiring environment that enhances creativity and curatorial vision.

Participant Profile

We prioritize applications from FLINTA* individuals (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender) and curators from the global south. The residency is open to a maximum of two curators per session.

Program Duration

The residency spans from August to December 2024, with a minimum stay of one month and a maximum of three months.

Financial and Logistical Support

Provided by the Organization:

  • Workspace: Access to a fully equipped coworking space.
  • Exhibition Gallery: Use of Bardo Projektraum gallery for your final exhibition.
  • Promotion and Publicity: Support in promoting your exhibitions via social media and specialized media contacts.
  • Inauguration Events: Organization of events, including catering and music.
  • Invitation Letters: Assistance in applying for mobility grants and other external funding.

Expected from Residents:

  • Residency Cost: 650 euros per month, covering workspace and gallery access. Residents are responsible for their own accommodation.
  • Project Development: Active development and presentation of your research and work in progress.
  • Participation: Engage in mentorships, artist studio visits, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Networking: Foster collaboration and leverage networking opportunities provided by the program.

Residents should also budget for accommodation, local transportation, work materials, daily living expenses, health insurance, and any additional cultural activities or communication costs.
