Open Call 2025: Group Exhibitions at Karne Kunst
Karne Kunst is thrilled to announce its open call for artists, curators, and collectives based in Berlin interested in participating in group exhibitions throughout 2025. This opportunity offers the chance to showcase work in a professionally curated environment, with dedicated promotion and connections to collectors, curators, and an engaged audience at our spaces: Bardo Projektraum (Berlin), Coswig Projektraum (Coswig Anhalt), and additional satellite locations.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome diverse proposals across visual arts, multimedia installations, performance, photography, sculpture, and other innovative art forms that reflect strong artistic vision, depth, and originality. Applications are open to independent artists, artist collectives, and curatorial proposals.
What We Offer
1. Professional Curation
Our curatorial team will carefully select and organize the artworks, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality exhibition that highlights each piece and enhances the overall viewer experience.
2. Installation and Logistics
We coordinate the installation process, handling the professional setup of the exhibition. Additionally, we provide transportation within Berlin, making it as seamless as possible for artists to participate.
3. Artwork Insurance
All pieces will be insured during the exhibition period, offering peace of mind regarding the safety of each work.
4. Comprehensive Promotion
Our promotional support includes:
- Social media and online campaigns through Karne Kunst’s networks.
- Creation of promotional materials, including potential postcards or merchandise for sale.
- An exhibition catalog showcasing the participating artists and their works.
5. Press Release
Karne Kunst will issue a press release to specialized media, enhancing the exhibition’s visibility and attracting public interest.
6. Public Access
Our spaces will be open to the public at least three days a week, with Karne Kunst staff on-site to welcome and guide visitors.
Personal Appointments
For artists who prefer a one-on-one discussion, we offer the option of personal appointments with our curatorial team. These meetings allow artists to present their portfolios, discuss their proposals in depth, and receive valuable feedback on-site. Appointments are held every Monday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Bardo Projektraum, by reservation only. Book your appointment here: cal.com/marcelavillanueva/consultas-personalizadas-sobre-desarrollo-de-proyectos-socio-culturales.
Fair Sales System
Although our spaces are non-commercial, Karne Kunst supports artists who wish to sell their work during the exhibition. For those interested in this option, we will create a sales catalog featuring artwork details and prices, and will invite collectors, curators, and potential buyers, generating an ideal environment for art sales. Artists who choose not to sell will still have full exhibition participation but will not be included in the catalog or sales-focused promotions.
How to Apply
Interested artists, collectives, and curators are invited to submit their proposals, CV, and portfolio to info@karnekunst.com. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected applicants will be contacted to discuss their participation.
Karne Kunst’s Curatorial Approach
Karne Kunst’s curatorial approach is defined by a gender perspective that highlights and centers the voices, experiences, and perspectives of FLINTA (women, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender) artists. Our mission is to empower underrepresented voices within the art world, offering a platform where diverse viewpoints are not only welcomed but celebrated.
Collaboration and Co-Creation
We work in close collaboration with artists, emphasizing co-creation to ensure that each exhibition remains true to the artist’s vision and reflects their unique experiences and artistic intentions. This collaborative spirit allows us to craft exhibitions that resonate deeply with both artists and audiences, creating an authentic and meaningful artistic experience.
A Safe and Inclusive Space
Karne Kunst is committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment for FLINTA artists to showcase their work. Our exhibitions actively counter the discrimination and biases often faced by FLINTA artists, cultivating a space where creativity and expression can flourish freely.
